Caring for our history

Preparing for the future means first understanding the past. Indiana University's collections are vast and various, found across multiple campuses and venues, and encompassing more than 30 million objects that provide endless opportunities for new discoveries. To ensure these objects remain available to future generations, IU also invests deeply in preservation through programs such as its Media Digitization and Preservation Initiative and IU Libraries Moving Image Archive and through leadership provided by the university’s first executive director for university collections.
