This year’s event was hosted by Indiana University
Cybersecurity literacy is increasingly vital to business executives and leaders across industries, sectors and nations. Cyber attackers, ranging from hacktivists to organized crime networks to nation-states are targeting vulnerable networks and are frequently successful in stealing funds as well as valuable intellectual property. Cybersecurity is central to economic competitiveness and national security. Indiana’s universities are undertaking groundbreaking research and have robust operational capabilities that can help in this fight.
The Indiana Statewide Cybersecurity Summit, took place Oct. 18 and was a collaboration among IU, Notre Dame and Purdue University. It brought together more than 200 cybersecurity experts, business leaders, policymakers, and other interested parties from across Indiana.
The event aimed to:
Expose Indiana policymakers and business leaders to cutting-edge cybersecurity research and perspectives from those who have spent their careers in the field
- Deepen the research ties among Indiana’s universities and community colleges in the field of cybersecurity, leading to new collaborations and opportunities for engagement
- Raise the overall level of cyber engagement, awareness, and hygiene across the state.
