IU President launches a new Presidential Fellows Program in the Arts and Humanities
Indiana University President Pamela Whitten has launched a new Presidential Fellows Program in the Arts and Humanities.
The new program will provide support to a cohort of outstanding arts and humanities scholars who are poised to become national and international leaders in their fields.
Fellowship recipients will receive support to advance a significant research or creative project, participate in professional development and collaborate with other faculty.
"The Presidential Fellows Program builds on IU's longstanding commitment to faculty who are leading the way in the arts and humanities," said IU President Pamela Whitten. "I look forward to engaging with these colleagues and to the opportunities for our students and communities that will develop with the support of this program."
In addition to the fellowship program, there are additional upcoming funding opportunities through IU’s Presidential Arts and Humanities Program.
The long-running program, formerly known as the New Frontiers in Arts and Humanities, was created in 2009 with generous support from Lilly Endowment, Inc. and offers significant support to IU faculty across all campuses who are working in the arts and humanities.
Applications are available online in each of the four grant categories. The deadlines for submission are below.
- Presidential Fellows Program in the Arts and Humanities supports a select cohort of arts and humanities scholars for an intensive academic year of research and creative activity, professional development, and collaboration. Deadline: March 18, 2022.

"The arts and humanities have never been more important, nor the challenges facing faculty in these areas greater. I am grateful to program co-directors Jason Kelly and Ed Dallis-Comentale for their leadership of this program and to our colleagues in the arts and humanities whose work is both critical and inspirational," said Vice President for Research Fred Cate.
