- The Office of the Vice Provost for Research is offering seed funding of up to $40,000 through its Faculty Research Support Program. The program supports new research projects that have not been previously submitted for external funding but are targeted for submission to a specific agency and whose likelihood of funding would increase with the acquisition of data or proof of concept. The deadline for the next round of funding is Friday, April 1. More information and application available online.
- Want to apply for a grant but need a statistician on your team? The Indiana Statistical Consulting Center supports IU faculty, staff and graduate students by helping with the planning phase, writing the methodological portion of grant proposals, carrying out the proposed analysis and writing up results once the grant is funded. Collaborators will meet free of charge with the agreement that their efforts will be compensated by the grant if funded. More information is available online.
- Bloomington faculty in the arts and humanities are invited to attend "Grants & Bagels: Grantwriting 101 session" at 10 a.m. on Feb. 25 in the Grand Hall, Maxwell Hall. The workshop will provide an overview of how to approach A&H grantwriting as a specific writing form with insights from A&H faculty on how they approach their own grant writing process. - Regenstrief Data Services is offering a free, 90-minute training session to showcase its MDClone platform – a free, secure, self-service platform for building queries and downloading computationally derived (synthetic) data from RDS. Participants will test the feasibility of a research question, download synthetic data for analysis or share your query with RDS to receive the original data (IRB required). Participants must first request access to the system using your IU credentials. Register to attend the Feb. 16 and Feb. 18 sessions.
