Funding opportunities and resources

  • The Bantz-Petronio Translating Research Into Practice Faculty Award recognizes outstanding work in translating research into practice by a faculty member at IUPUI. The recipient receives a cash award of $1,000. Deadline: Jan. 22. 
  • The Charles R. Bantz Chancellor’s Community Fellowship Award ($40,000) links academic expertise to community action, with the expectation that community partners and IUPUI students are involved in planning and achieving this work. Deadline: Jan. 22.
  • The IUPUI TRIP Center is offering the Charles R. Bantz Chancellor’s Community Scholar Award, providing $25,000 to an IUPUI faculty member to encourage new researchers to support community-driven goals while advancing their own research agenda. Deadline: Jan. 22.
  • The Presidential Arts and Humanities Fellows Program ($50,000) accelerates and amplifies the work of a cohort of outstanding Indiana University faculty poised to become national and international leaders in their respective areas. Deadline: Jan. 30.
  • The Research Equipment Fund supports the purchase or development of research equipment, including upgrades and major repairs, instrumentation or datasets costing $15,000 or more that is used for research in the natural, physical, health, information or social sciences. Deadline: Mar. 1.
  • The Howard Hughes Medical Institute is seeking creative and innovative scientists to join its Investigator Program. The institute pays the full salary of the investigator and offers a comprehensive benefits package. Deadline: Mar. 21
  • Faculty across all IU campuses are invited to join the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Research Competition as a faculty mentor. Winners receive $1,000 and have a chance to share their work with colleagues at six partner universities around the world at the Global Partners Research Forum in April. Deadline: Apr. 1.
